Product Support Specialist - Level 2

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Join our team as a Product Support Specialist II at the T&L (Transport $ Logistic) AP Regional Competency Center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role is vital for providing 24/5 technical and post-sales support for Mettler Toledo’s Dimensioning and Systems product portfolio, collaborating closely with global Product Support teams, R&D Engineers, and Product Managers to support field engineers and customers. 

Key Responsibilities

Product Technical Support: 
  • Provide ongoing technical support for assigned product families using available tools for both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Maintain the regional technical support library and contribute to the global FAQ knowledgebase. 
  • Communicate technical issues, quality concerns, and defects to relevant stakeholders promptly. 
  • Manage and maintain Dimensioning products and system components within the AP Regional Competency Center. 
  • Offer on-site customer and partner support during escalations in line with Go-to-Gemba procedures. 
  • Support trade show activities including demo kits and booth assistance. 
Product Training: 
  • Collaborate with Research & Development to develop and update strong global service training materials. 
  • Define and coordinate global training activities with internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Adapt training content to meet regional market needs for customers, partners, and service technicians. 
  • Deliver on-site, remote training sessions, and eDemos to customers and country service organizations. 
  • Work effectively in team environments to conduct training with multiple trainers. 
Quality & Logistics: 
  • Support external quality issues related to Product Development, Launch, and Phase-out of assigned products. 
  • Validate reported quality issues by designing and performing tests to confirm or rule out problems. 
  • Assist Global Product Managers and direct/indirect service organizations with service planning for new products. 
  • Manage spare part logistics and extended inventory related to the product portfolio.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, computer science, mechanical, or related fields preferred. 
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a customer-focused technical role with product knowledge. 
  • Strong analytical skills including root cause analysis. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills. 
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, PLC/HMI systems is a plus. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects involving various stakeholders. 
  • Strong understanding of communication interface technology (Serial, TCP/IP, PLC, Web-based, etc.).
  • Experience with Ubuntu or Linux is an advantage. 
  • Experience with web technologies is beneficial. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint. 
  • Ability to direct, edit, and/or produce short informative videos (experience with OBS is a plus).
Work Environment & Requirements:
  • 30-35% regional and international travel.
  • Ability to obtain passports and valid visas for global travel.
  • Typical work schedule from 6am to 3pm at the Kuala Lumpur facility
