Mechanical Engineer Strain Gauge Sensors
Location Nänikon, Canton of Zurich Date posted February 17, 2025 Job ID 18406- You design and develop strain gauge-related manufacturing processes
- You optimize, validate, and qualify components, processes, and procedures
- You are responsible for qualifying strain gauge base transducers, components, materials, and manufacturing processes
- You coordinate the PLM processes in strong collaboration between the design owner unit and the manufacturing units
- You organize and execute load cell-related projects in the field of strain gauge transducers with a strong focus on manufacturing implementation
- You provide technical support on strain gauge transducer products to other departments in R&D and operations in Switzerland and China
The following requirements are necessary for this role:
- You hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree (FH/Uni) in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
- You gained at least 3 years of working experience within a global multicultural high-tech industrial environment
- You have proven experience in the design and development of strain gauge transducers and sensors
- You have experience in using different tools like CAD (PTC Creo), Siemens Teamcenter, SAP and with languages like Matlab and Python
- You have the ability to carry out theoretical and practical studies to determine sound designs and reliable manufacturing processes
- You have experience in project managing multiple complex projects or significant sub-tasks within large projects
- You possess profound knowledge of material science subject areas such as the anelastic behavior of materials, surface treatment technologies, adhesive bonding, and laser welding
- You have expertise in the management of inter-company PLM processes
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in German and English are a must for this role
