Material Handler
Location Columbus, Ohio Date posted February 11, 2025 Job ID 18682- Navigate the facility effectively using our storage location system.
- Accurately receive inbound goods with meticulous attention to detail by recording Goods Receipt transactions in SAP.
- Collaborate with Tactical and Strategic Buyers to coordinate and manage critical deliveries.
- Unload supplier trucks and vans using a forklift.
- Address any supplier receiving issues in collaboration with Tactical Buyers.
- Daily scan and archive all packing slips into SAP.
- Provide feedback on supplier performance in conjunction with Tactical Buyers.
- Deliver and manage materials as required for production.
- Ensure timely delivery of goods to designated work centers.
- Replenish materials using kanban, re-order points, or other notification methods.
- Document any disturbances encountered.
- Partner with the Inventory Manager to align our inventory with SAP by reporting material shortages and outages.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area at the end of each shift.
- Safely operate forklifts and cranes.
- Be willing to cross-train and assist in other departments as needed.
- Drive a box truck to pick up orders from other METTLER TOLEDO facilities when necessary.
- Participate in facility 5S and Lean activities
- Perform daily activities safely and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment
- Assist in identifying improvement opportunities
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Ability to manage ones time
- Ability to safely operate the following equipment
- Jib and overhead cranes
- Forklift
- Box truck
- Good verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn basic computer skills involving SAP and Microsoft Office
- Problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment
- Ability to work from order schedules
- Ability to follow directions and complete assignments
