Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Support and drive strategies that lead directly to the yearly improvement of the Environmental, Health, & Safety Culture of the MTNA Service Organization. Effectively communicate and interact with both internal and external stakeholders in a manner consistent with METTLER TOLEDO Visions and Values Provide safety leadership and guidance to employees, managers, technicians, contractors, and customers. Support development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EH&S programs and initiatives. Maintain processes and standards to ensure Service field and office operations are meeting OSHA and regulatory requirements. Provide comprehensive safety training programs, including new hire, visitor, and OSHA training. Promote a strong safety culture through training, engagement, hazard identification, near-miss reporting, and accountability. Conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and gap analyses; track and drive corrective actions. Lead or support incident investigations, root cause analysis, workers’ compensation activities, and injury prevention efforts. Maintain EH&S documentation, training records, SharePoint resources, and management systems. Safety Leadership for field employees. Provide safety education and direction to the service employees working on different job sites through-out the United States and Canada. Support the technicians Safety Councils to drive the Safety-First Culture across the organization. Coordinate contractor safety training programs and administer identification card verification, issuance, and access control processes. Monitor and maintain building security systems. Coordinate emergency response teams to ensure appropriate training in emergency response, disaster preparedness and crisis management. Assist in ensuring drills and equipment are ready and that responsibilities are communicated effectively to personnel. Support all EH&S documentation, reporting, SharePoint sites, and government reporting requirements (OSHA, EPA, GAIA reporting), implementing improvements as needed. Act as a company leader and representative at all times in the best interest of METTLER TOLEDO while balancing the needs and requirements of the team.
What You Need to Succeed
  • EHS knowledge in regulatory requirements and EHS technical aspects (safety, industrial hygiene, environmental regulatory management, risk management, behavior-based safety, training, regulatory agency enforcement). 
  • Excellent coach and motivator of people; inspires by example, unwavering commitment to safety. 
  • Excellent people skills, open to change, collaborative work style.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify issues, and implement effective solutions Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business systems. 
  • Experience in safety incident classification, investigation procedures, root cause analyses and corrective actions. 
  • High level of comfort developing and delivering training and motivational presentations to all levels of associates. Experience with DOT regulations. 
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks. 
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and work experience that includes compliance issues with EPA, OSHA, and state and local authorities.
