Business Development Manager (Automated Chemical Analysis) - APAC

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Reporting to the Head of Sales, this position is responsible for the development of sales and execution of marketing activities of the AutoChem (Automated Chemical Analysis) business in Asia Pacific Region with the specific focus on underpenetrated territories and segments

1. Asia Pacific Region marketing initiatives execution 
  • Collaborate closely with teams in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Taiwan.
  • Work with the marketing communications team to support campaign execution in assigned countries.
  • Track marketing performance metrics such as email engagement, leads generated, and website traffic from campaigns. 
  • Monitor agreed marketing KPIs including e-messages, e-leads, web views generated from the campaigns 
  • Participate in person/on-line in agreed marketing activities run by Market Organizations, e.g. seminars, webinars, conferences, exhibitions, roundtables etc.
  • Proactively propose, participate in developing and coordinating execution of sales specific campaigns to address country-specific market requirements 
2. Achieve or exceed AutoChem sales budget in the specified territories 
  • Manage all sales activities within assigned territories including lead generation, prospecting, cold calling, and sales presentations.
  • Technical support/coordination of technical support for defined accounts/territories for AutoChem products 
  • Implement Key Account Development program for defined key accounts 
  • Accurate and detailed forecast for relevant AutoChem opportunities on a continual basis for purposes of reporting using CRM 
  • Continual self-education of Mettler Toledo AutoChem (MTAC) technology and related applications.
  • Develop and execute a plan to begin the consultative selling process with value selling 
3. Training and Development 
  • Train new account managers and technical staff on AutoChem products and technologies.
  • Provide introductory training personally and advanced training in collaboration with specialists. 
4. Market Intelligence 
  • Provide product management teammates with accurate and up to date market information that can be readily converted into requirements to support new product introductions 
  • Provide the product management and product market managers with essential competitor activities in assigned territories 
5. AutoChem APAC regional support 
  • Support and help organizing regional events as assigned by the Head of Sales, Autochem (APAC) 
  • Work on the assignment-based activities as determined by Head of Sales, Autochem (APAC)
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering required; Advanced degree preferred 
  • Three (3) years' experience in process development, sales & marketing or product management 
  • Strong track record of delivering business results and demonstrated ability to mobilize and influence an organization
  • International experience is required with experience working in Asia, willing to travel (Asia and Internationally)
  • Proven project management skills including a clear understanding of how to influence without authority across matrix style organizations 
  • Experience with developing business justifications for high value capital purchases
  • Open and effective communication style, excellent public presentation skills, strong people skills, cross-organizational teamwork and the ability to interact with and influence the direction of key opinion leaders
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of o MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – proficient user of English, Bahasa and Mandarin languages – capable to maintain routine and technical conversation, able to make customer presentation
