Operations and Site Development Manager

- Own operational performance and ensure all services are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with customer expectations, quality standards, and company procedures.
- Lead and support Facility Managers, providing direction, coaching, and oversight while maintaining accountability for operational performance across the service organization.
- Serve as the primary operational resource for the team, providing timely guidance and hands-on support to resolve technical, operational, and customer-related issues.
- Participate directly in project execution as required, supporting complex, high-priority, or resource-constrained projects to ensure successful outcomes.
- Develop, train, mentor, and evaluate operational personnel to ensure a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and customer-focused workforce.
- Ensure standardized operating procedures, work instructions, validation protocols, and best practices are consistently followed throughout all in-house and mobile operations.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence through continuous improvement initiatives thatenhance safety, quality, productivity, responsiveness, and customer satisfaction.
- Review operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and implement process enhancements that improve service consistency, efficiency, and execution.
- Ensure operational readiness of all in-house facilities and mobile service teams to support
- rapid customer response and reliable project execution.
- Provide technical application support for project planning, equipment setup, validation studies, inspection methodology, troubleshooting, and customer applications.
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service, Project Management, Engineering, and Technical
- Support to ensure seamless project execution from quotation through project completion.
- Ensure effective communication across operational teams, providing clear direction, timely updates, and rapid resolution of issues impacting customer service.
- Oversee the maintenance, calibration, cleanliness, and operational readiness of all X-ray inspection systems, support equipment, vehicles, and mobile assets.
- Review operational processes to ensure effective practices are in place for equipment maintenance, spare parts availability, consumables, and service readiness without assuming direct inventory ownership.
- Lead investigations into operational issues, customer concerns, and service deviations, implementing corrective and preventive actions to improve future performance.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety requirements, regulatory standards, customer-specific requirements, workplace health and safety policies, and company procedures.
- Support the planning, startup, and ongoing operation of new facilities, mobile fleets, and expanded service offerings as the business grows.
- Establish and monitor operational performance metrics, driving accountability and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
- Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, professionalism, responsiveness, and continuous learning while fostering high employee engagement and development.
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned in support of the continued growth and success of the organization.
- Regular interaction with customers, production personnel, Facility Managers, and cross functional teams is required to ensure consistent execution of X-ray Reclaim services.
- The role requires balancing strategic operational oversight with hands-on involvement, including supporting field operations, troubleshooting, training, and service execution as business needs dictate.
- Work is performed in office settings, warehouses, and food manufacturing facilities, including refrigerated, frozen, wet, and production environments.
- Occasional exposure to industrial equipment, moving machinery, forklifts, and warehouse operations requires strict adherence to all company and customer safety procedures.
- Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, hairnets, and other food safety apparel, must be worn when working in customer production environments.
- The position requires regular use of computers and operational software, including Microsoft
- Excel, Asana, Microsoft Office applications, and future MT Reclaim digital operating systems
- The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities, respond effectively to changing customer requirements, and support emergency service requests in a fast-paced, customer focused environment.
- Standard duties involve prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, computer work, and participation in both virtual and in-person meetings.
- The position may require lifting and moving equipment or materials weighing up to 50 lbs (23kg) and assisting with the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mobile X-ray inspection equipment when required.
- Flexibility to work outside normal business hours, including evenings, weekends, and emergency response situations, is required to support customer service commitments and operational excellence.
- This position supports X-ray Reclaim operations throughout North America and requires regular travel across Canada and the United States.
- Approximately 40–60% travel is expected based on customer demand, operational priorities, new facility launches, training initiatives, and business growth.
- Travel includes visits to customer facilities, in-house re-inspection centers, mobile project sites, and regional operating locations to provide operational leadership, technical support, coaching, audits, and hands-on assistance.
- The Operations Manager is expected to respond to critical operational needs, service escalations, and emergency customer situations, which may require travel on short notice.
- Overnight and occasional extended travel will be required depending on project duration and business requirements.
- A valid driver's license, a valid passport, and the ability to travel freely throughout Canada and the United States are required.
