    Mechanical Engineer II

    Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
    As our Mechanical Engineer II, you will design and develop mechanical components and systems for new and existing process control instruments, sensors, and their test systems. You will ensure all documentation is generated and in a place for Production and QC to build and test the product. You will also work closely with manufacturing engineering and/or sustaining engineering to resolve issues with current products, as well as in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment. Additional experience with project engineering or technical leadership on small scope products is helpful. You will develop solutions to meet project requirements with a focus on new sensor and analyzer mechanical components and systems, which may require higher level analysis with tools such as FEA. 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 
    • Conducting basic to intermediate level research related to new technologies, product applications, or new products. 
    • Generating CAD models, bills of material, interface specifications, and other documents for new designs, with minimal supervision and final approval from more senior level staff. 
    • Working closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Service, and other groups to ensure DFX is incorporated into designs and processes. 
    • Qualifying and selecting mechanical and electro/mechanical components. 
    • Holding design reviews within own area of design and participating in other design reviews. Testing/debugging prototypes of new designs, verifying that specifications are met. 
    • Writing alpha/gamma test plans and other documentation such as hardware design specifications. 
    • Providing technical oversite during beta testing, with full ownership of the process. 
    • Working with manufacturing and service to resolve product and process issues. 
    • Working with manufacturing engineering to develop assembly procedures and QC test procedures for new designs. 
    • Assisting with regulatory compliance within own area of design. 
    • Working as technical lead or project engineer on small scope projects, with supervision. 
    • Evaluating competitive products.
    What You Need to Succeed
    • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing mechanical engineering. 
    • Experience with optics, chemistry, electrochemistry, electronics, fluidics systems, or materials science is a plus. 
    • 3-7 years of experience with designing mechanical components. 
    • Experience with Creo or SolidWorks is required. 
    • Experience with SAP or other ERP system and GD&T is a plus. 
    • Experience with building test plans, conducting testing, and documenting entire process.
