Senior Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
  • Qualification: BE / B.Tech / ME / M.Tech in Computer Science, IT or related fields.
  • At least 12 years of experience leading IT development teams.
  • Strong technical knowhow in the domain areas we operate in.
  • Understand tools used in application and product lifecycle management.
  • Knowledge in SAP/Salesforce will be a plus.
  • Good understanding of application deployment, monitoring and support is a plus. 
  • Experience in leading Engineering IT teams.
  • Experience in handling matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to work with cross functional teams and customer stakeholders.
  • Experience in SAFe Agile transformation.
  • Experience in handling IT vendors and service providers will be a plus.
  • Ability to travel internationally 10% - 20% of the time.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Demonstrate leadership and management skills with the ability to build and optimize team performance and development to fulfill the organizational objectives.
  • Be responsible for all areas of the Engineering IT function and quality of delivery, building best-in-class applications, services, solutions, and business practices to deliver to the stakeholders’ expectations.
  • Establish and drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all areas of the Engineering IT function to ensure that all projects are delivered on cost and on time to the highest quality standards. 
  • Take responsibility and accountability for the Engineering IT aspects which will include people, cost, schedule, and scope management. 
  • Be part of the senior management team which determines all business decisions of the respective unit.
  • Provide clear leadership and inspire and motivate staff to achieve excellence and mentor them to develop new skills.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports and manage a high performing team that delivers continuous improvement.
  • Ensure strong collaboration between teams under leadership to facilitate exchange of information and to implement change and improvements.
  • Excellent relationship management skills with the ability to engage, negotiate and manage key stakeholders.
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Responsible to implement strategy and operational goals maximizing efficiency, optimizing, and driving software engineering excellence.
  • Define annual performance goals and objectives. 
  • Evaluate challenges faced by business units and functions; take action to mitigate and develop opportunities.

People Management
  • Be responsible for building appropriate organizational structure, resource plans and culture to fulfil business objectives and strategy.
  • Define department targets and monitor progress and performance.
  • Build a vibrant culture to support self-organizing teams.
  • Enable teams to achieve operational and financial goals and succeed in their roles.

Financial Budget and Control
  • Prepare and manage annual operating plans. Manage demand-supply effectively.
  • Ensure the unit’s operating margins and costs are managed well within the targets.

Relationship Management
  • Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders for optimal performance.
  • Communicate with stakeholders, the impact of market and technology change and potential effects on engineering.

Program Management
  • Work with stakeholders to establish efficient software development processes.
  • Institute regular project/program reviews to the leadership.
  • Develop deep understanding of the end user context to make technical decisions and choices.
