Location Changzhou, Jiangsu, China Date posted June 23, 2026 Job ID 22415- Product Classification and Product Database Management:
- HS Classification for products based on technical specifications, functions, and applications to ensure compliance with relevant import/export laws and regulations, and to meet the timeliness requirements for import/export customs clearance.
- Determine and maintain the country of origin based on the product's relevant basic information.
- Maintain the product database to ensure the accuracy and completeness of relevant information, including but not limited to HS codes, product descriptions, declaration elements and country of origin, and ensure that SAP data is updated in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with the Global Trade Compliance team to facilitate communication, evaluation, and alignment regarding HS codes and country of origin.
- Management of Regulated Goods:
- Ensure that the import and export of various regulated goods comply with legal and regulatory requirements, including but not limited to dual-use items, dangerous goods, chemicals, goods subject to commodity inspection, intellectual property, and import/export licenses.
- Assist with applications for relevant regulatory certificates, the subsequent renewal and maintenance.
- Customs Clearance and Inspection Support:
- Assist with tasks related to customs inspections during the import and export customs clearance process.
- Provide clear responses and relevant supporting documentation in response to customs inquiries regarding commodity classification or country of origin.
- Trade Compliance and Product Classification Guidance:
- Collaborate with R&D, marketing, production, and supply chain teams to gather information needed for classification, assess customer needs and trade processes, and provide expert advice and solutions.
- Raise trade compliance awareness among all employees through training, knowledge sharing, and other activities.
- Tariff Planning:
- Support analysis and evaluation related to tariff planning by analyzing customs policies and data from customs systems; develop optimization strategies and drive the implementation.
- Conduct tariff research to interpret the latest tariff changes and assess the impact on the company’s customs duty and compliance.
- Collaborate closely with the Group’s trade compliance team to facilitate the smooth execution of tariff planning initiatives, ensuring that strategies are both compliant and effective.
- Based on actual business needs, propose practical recommendations to optimize costs and enhance the company’s competitiveness.
- Continuously monitor developments in domestic and international customs regulations and tariff schedules to ensure the forward-looking and adaptive nature of tariff planning strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in HS code classification, country-of-origin determination, and import/export-related business.
- Extensive experience in trade compliance management and tariff planning with related projects.
- Proficient in relevant customs policies, laws, and regulations, as well as international trade practices, and possess a thorough understanding of HS classification standards and potential trade risks in international logistics.
- Ability to comprehend and learn corporate systems, business processes, products, cross-functional collaboration, and supplier operations.
- Strong data management and analytical skills, with proficiency in office software, SAP, and customs-related systems.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills, both internally and externally, with strong logical thinking and teamwork capabilities.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken), able to draft professional documents and lead meetings independently.
- High trade compliance awareness, growth mindset, adaptability to change, and willingness to embrace the changes and challenges. Self-motivated with strong ownership, attention to details and task management skills.
