Electrical Design Engineer

- Visit sites, customers, and suppliers to support product delivery and technical solutions
- Create electrical schematics and design proposals for custom applications
- Prepare technical quotations and product cost estimates
- Develop product specifications, bills of materials, and maintain electrical databases
- Update and create design drawings using 2D and 3D software
- Conduct product testing and validation; document results
- Implement Engineering Change Requests on time and accurately
- Support new product design to reduce costs and lead times through improved techniques
- Investigate and resolve customer quality issues with corrective actions
- Collaborate with R&D to ensure engineering requirements for new products are met
- Perform risk assessments and advise on safe work methods
- Prepare technical assistance and deliver training to METTLER TOLEDO Sales and Service teams
- HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering related discipline
- Significant post graduate commercial experience in low voltage electrical product design engineering within a low or medium volume production environment
- Experience and knowledge of mechanical design
- Ability to produce and amend electrical designs, develop wiring schematics and parts lists
- Experience in the design to order industry
- Configuration, Programming and troubleshooting PLCs, ideally Siemens, Allen Bradley, or Rockwell
- Ability to communicate at all levels of a business
- Innovative, can spot opportunities for improvement
