Role Description:
In this role, you will design and develop cutting-edge solutions for our advanced dimensioning products. You will actively participate in requirements of analysis, craft innovative system architectures, and execute detailed system designs.
Your work will involve creating and developing integrated electrical and mechanical systems that not only meet but exceed performance, quality, and cost goals. Looking ahead, this role offers the exciting opportunity to grow into a Technical Lead position, where you will be able to lead a small team responsible for delivering innovative system designs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed system designs, integrating mechanical and electrical elements. (e.g. dimensioning, scale, barcode scanners, PC, camera, etc.)
- Create and review engineering drawings, schematics, and 3D models using mechanical and electrical CAD design software.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineering.
- Conduct design analysis, simulations, and validation testing to ensure system functionality and reliability.
- Assist in prototyping, production, and product launch activities.
- Document design processes, specifications, and test results.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in design methodologies and processes.
- Expected Travel: 20 % – 25%
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- Alternatively, Technical Vocational School and extensive hands-on experience in systems design and testing.
- Around 5 – 10 years of proven experience in Electrical & Mechanical system design
- Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD) and electrical design software (e.g., Eplan).
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and circuits and mechanical design principles
- Experience with sensor integration (LiDAR, 3D cameras or load cells) and physical constraints of high-speed data transmission between them.
- Good understanding or experience working in SAP PLM.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of Declaration of Conformity and approvals such as CE, HAR, UL, NFPA etc.
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral skills
- Strong organizational skills with a proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical abilities (root cause).
- Curiosity, creativity and a willingness to go the extra mile.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies to adapt to industry trends.
- Fluent English communication skills. Norwegian language is a plus.
