Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Negotiate price, payment terms, and delivery terms for assigned supplier base to meet yearly Material Price Index (MPI) goal. Secure capacity and forecasting. Set up and manage vendor contracts to achieve the best total cost, consistently pursuing cost reduction initiatives aligned with corporate targets.
• Identify, evaluate, qualify, and implement new suppliers for assigned commodities, including price negotiation, onsite supplier quality audits and service level definition. Extend Low-Cost Country (LCC) supplier base where applicable.
• Identify and project manage alternative least cost initiatives with regards to outsourcing, sub-contracting, insourcing, and e-supply chain to minimize cost and risk while maintaining product integrity and quality
• Implement and drive strategic sourcing initiatives for direct and indirect materials to rightsize the supplier portfolio, utilizing the MT framework and tools.
• Support the Supply Chain function to establish, maintain and monitor KPI’s to optimize supply chain performance in support of spares and production requirements.
• Gather and analyze spend and supplier data, execute benchmarking, provide relevant data, and compile reports to enhance performance in safety, quality, delivery, and overall total cost, supporting sustainable and rapid growth.
• Evaluating and monitoring the risk profile of the supply base, and implement risk mitigation initiatives.
• Manage supplier performance and relationships by regularly reviewing key vendor performance, fostering partnerships to stabilize and grow the supply chain while mitigating risks. Conduct onsite vendor reviews, scorecards, and audits in collaboration with Quality and devise action plans for improvement for under achieving suppliers.
• Ensure Quality, Delivery and Cost development of goods and services for direct and / or indirect spend.
• Support non-conformity / warranty process management and help to resolve non-conformances and overall quality performance.
• Create an effective and business focused working relationship with key internal customers; Manufacturing, Production Planning, Sales, Service, Warehouse and Engineering built on good communication and shared ambition. Establish regular meetings with units being actively supported.
• Work with product lifecycle management (PLM) in product phase-out activities as well as new product introductions including Design for Excellence (DFX) initiatives, vendor selection, and ensuring supply chain readiness for launches.
• Analyze future demand trends in cooperation with Sales and Service or other involved functions.
• Ability to work on-site in local Mettler-Toledo office facility.
• Execute assigned projects as defined.

What You Need to Succeed
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the suppliers/customers and co-workers, including maintaining positive interpersonal relationships which encourage openness.
• Demonstration of strong verbal and written communication skills to produce
accurate, professional and error-free documents and present information and train
personnel at all levels.
• Exposure within a technical engineering environment, especially Engineered-to-order, is desirable.
• Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize workload. Strong Project Management skills desired.
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to work under own initiative is required.
• Skills in leadership, communications, negotiating, and influencing others
• Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.
• Experience in providing customer service in a procurement environment

• Experience in managing Fabricate sheet metal, Machined Parts, Electro-Mechanical, PCBs, Optics, or Steel commodities, if applicable
• Strong negotiating skills
• Familiarity with SAP Procurement modules, including contracts, PIRs, source lists, and master data, is desirable.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Excel

Minimum Education / Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing, manufacturing, quality, or engineering, or any equivalent combination of education and experience
