Field Service Technician
Location San Diego, California, United States Date posted May 06, 2026 Job ID 21991 Pay Range $21 to $24 per hour (Plus Bonuses)- Following daily service visits schedule through careful coordination with their Area Service Leader.
- Drives to customer sites to provide onsite pipette service according to the service schedule, including use of personal vehicle when needed.
- While on site at customer facilities, the Field Service Tech provides pipette repair and calibration services.
- Representing Rainin to customer in a professional and positive manner.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or as part of a small team.
- Completes service reports and expense reports and is responsible for maintaining service equipment and parts inventory.
- Provides Rainin Sales with customer leads for potential new product purchases.
- When available, assists in Service Center production activities as assigned by the Area Service Leader.
- Travel out of local area of up to 50% of the time required to support the business, including overnight travel up to 25% of the time.
- Must have a High school diploma or general education degree (GED.
- Minimum of one year related experience with Manufacturing, Instrumentation, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and prior work experience.
- Must have a good driving record.
- Previous knowledge or work experience with pipettes preferred.
- Must have strong interpersonal and verbal (English) communication skills.
- Must have good written communication skills, as there will be frequent email communication with customers and associates and daily completion of service reports.
- Must have good mechanical aptitude and the ability to disassemble and reassemble small precision mechanical instruments.
- Strong organizational skills to successfully develop and schedule, process, and complete multiple tasks.
- Must have good computer skills, including use of email and common Microsoft Office programs.
