Technical Support Engineer
Location Ontario Date posted March 12, 2025 Job ID 18887- Coordinate with Service functions (such as Scheduling, Service Leaders, Technicians) to ensure on-time service delivery and processes are aligned with SAP and Salesforce templates
- Provide input to the Service Leaders in determining technician training needs based on installed base, customer requirements, existing technician capabilities, future requirements and develop annual technical training schedules
- Identify knowledge gaps across regional teams and work with Service Leader to develop PI technician champions
- Support service technician on-site and remotely when and where required to reinforce training technically and customer facing skills in PI environments
- Assist Service Leaders with developing and executing plans for successful installations, including identifying complex installs that may require site surveys, documentation, correct resources to be used and schedules
- Coordinate with Engineers, Service Leaders, and Global Strategic Business Units as needed to identify and resolve escalated machine issues quickly
- Collaborate with other areas of the business to ensure site surveys, quotes, scope of work, engineering work orders, parts shipment and intervention are executed in a timely manner
- Ability and having experiences on food production lines to determine source of problems affecting performance and outputs of Mettler Toledo products
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum 2 year college diploma or degree in Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, Technology or Computer Science, along with 5 years of experience or equivalent education and experience in a technical support role, technical troubleshooting or technical installation in industrial electronics, or electromechanical technology industry
- Experience might include experience in conveyor, conveyor control, end of line packaging equipment and product inspection technologies
- Ability to analyze and problem-solve in response to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
- Strong customer orientation with a hands-on mentality
- Overnight travel requirements may be up to 50%, could fluctuate based on business needs
- Must be available to work overtime/flexible hours and provide on-call / standby support
- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel within Canada and the U.S.
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
