Operations Support Manager

We are seeking an Operations Support Manager to join our team in Salford, who will be responsible for site maintenance and facilities, manufacturing technical support and the test and returns repair departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, demonstrated experience in project management disciplines and business analysis, and experience of managing a team.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Contributing to the creation and implementation of best practice; planning vision, strategy, policies, processes and procedures to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Implementing, maintaining and improving production systems/processes to deliver product on time, to quality requirements and to cost.
  • Driving functional excellence of the Operational Support team.
  • Identifying and deploying the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required. 
  • Motivating and coaching the team to operational success.
  • Setting department objectives/KPIs and reviewing and assessing ongoing performance of direct reports.
  • Providing technical expertise to the team and leading them in new product and process introduction.
  • Working collaboratively, negotiating and engaging with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the manufacturing strategy.
  • Staying current and up to date on any technology changes that may affect manufacturing design and development and advise others of any impact.
  • Holding responsibility for departmental budget.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Formal qualifications in Electronics/Mechanical/Production Management disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience in building and cultivating effective partnerships with a broad range of stakeholders from idea to delivery and future longevity.
  • Experience of working within a strategic framework and managing relationships at all levels
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills 
  • SAP knowledge
