Process Improvement Engineer
Location Lutz, Florida, United States Date posted March 26, 2026 Job ID 21684- Champion and leverage Lean Manufacturing culture on the shop floor in the design and execution of new manufacturing processes, methodologies and equipment layouts to improve overall equipment effectiveness
- Develop, maintain, and train on manufacturing work instructions utilized across production, of all product models, production lines, and warehouse activities
- Support/Lead manufacturing and operational cost savings initiatives and kaizens with support of other departments such as manufacturing, engineering, continuous improvement, sales, and others as required
- Provide daily tactical support to Manufacturing and other operational functions related to the shop floor through continuous monitoring, interaction, and direct support request
- Act as a liaison between Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and manufacturing, and serve as the leader to resolve any challenges that arise in the manufacturing process
- Create an efficient, effective, and dependable set of processes focusing on the elimination of waste in all areas of the company
- Work with leadership teams to define the current and future state Value Streams to plan and prioritize continuous improvement activities
- Provide leadership / mentoring / training to the manufacturing team on the use and practice of Lean methodology and tools (VSM, 5S, Kaizen, SMED, Design for Lean”, MDI, etc…)
- Optimize work center layout, space requirements, material flow and process to improve productivity and eliminate waste
- Work with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient and repeatable production methods
- Work as a key driver of change within manufacturing, supporting /cross functional decisions by communicating changes to employees and helping them to learn, understand, adjust and grow with the business’s Lean transformation manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes
- Optimize the bench strength in automation
- Implement the CAD to CAM changes
- Support new material set up, by creating as well as, updating existing production related master data such as routings and work center setup/design
- Development of tools and Jigs through design platforms such as AutoCAD / Inventor
- Ability to create tools, jigs and PokeYokes utilizing 3D printing technology
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required.
- Minimum 2- 5 years experience in Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement or relevant Engineering experience
- Ability to reach out to and work with other teams as required through self-motivation and understanding of End-to-End process implications
- Ability to create and analyze processes including development & monitoring of performance metrics associated with those processes
- Knowledge of manufacturing, warehousing, and other supporting supply chain processes
- Automation Strength
- CAD to CAM implementation experience
- Proven experience and understanding of Lean concepts such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), 5S, , Just-In-Time (JIT, Kanban, Standard Work, Root Cause Analysis (RCA, Poka-Yoke, Heijunka, Takt Time, Visual Management, Waste (Muda) Identification, Continuous Flow, Value-Added vs Non-Value-Added Activities, Gemba Walks
- Fluent computer skills in Microsoft Office based programs
