Payroll Specialist
Location Columbus, Ohio Date posted March 10, 2025 Job ID 18903- Analyzing and preparing all payroll data from our units into ADP Workforce Now, including bonuses, commissions, restricted stock, etc.
- Working with ADP to ensure they can accurately process payroll transactions, hours worked, tax compliance and government reporting.
- Validating and preparing off-cycle manual check requests.
- Preparing and validating quarter- and year-end tasks or adjustments.
- Assisting in documenting our processes and procedures.
- Reviewing year-end records and reports.
- Running custom reports.
- Responding to employee inquiries and troubleshooting payroll concerns.
- Collaborating with third parties to process employee federal and state wage garnishments.
- Assisting with verifying all annual benefit premium changes.
- Supporting management with audits, monthly reporting and special projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Human Resources or relevant field preferred.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification highly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in:
- U.S. multi-state payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, general ledger/payroll accounting and year-end payroll processes within a similar industry.
- Canadian payroll processing, payroll tax compliance, general ledger/payroll accounting and year-end payroll processes.
- Managing international assignment taxes and payroll for home and host country processes.
- ADP WFN payroll processing, preferably under a fully outsourced ADP Comprehensive Services model.
- Timekeeping systems and interfaces with high level knowledge of federal and state wage and hour requirements. Kronos timekeeping experience highly preferred.
- California payroll processing.
- Intermediate to advanced working experience in Excel with basic proficiency in Word, PowerPoint and Outlook required.
- Excellent communication skills required to effectively communicate with shared services team and all internal stakeholders.
- Excellent analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
