Cyber Security Engineer
Location Columbus, Ohio Date posted October 18, 2024 Job ID 17623- Security Consultation: Provide expert advice and guidance on various cyber security topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and evaluate risks associated with new and upcoming technology/projects, ensuring they align with our risk appetite and tolerance. This would include third party risk management.
- Cloud Security: Assist in recommendations and advise on best practices for securing cloud configurations and infrastructure.
- Compliance and Certifications: Guide the organization in achieving and maintaining certifications such as ISO 27001 and help ensure compliance with new data governance laws.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in developing and updating cyber security policies and procedures to address emerging threats and trends.
- Stakeholder engagement: Effectively communicate complex security concepts to a wide range of stakeholders and build strong working relationships across the business.
- Reporting: Generation of meaningful/actionable reports for the business based on the data collected by the various cyber security systems.
- Incident Response: Contribute to incident response planning and management, ensuring minimal impact on business operations during security events.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, Cyber Security, or a related field is preferred.
- A minimum of 6 years of total experience in IT, 3 of which had a focus in Cyber Security or Risk Management is required
- Must have fundamental knowledge of cloud security (Azure), risk management frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001/2), and IT governance best practices (COBIT, COSO)
- Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, OSCP, CCSP, or similar is preferred.
