Field Service Technician
Location Columbia, Maryland, United States Date posted September 10, 2026 Job ID 23057 Pay Range $27 - $30 / hr- Diagnose and repair complex electrical, electronic, mechanical, and instrumentation issues.
- Configure and troubleshoot communication and network connections
- Support equipment integration with customer systems and networks
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation
- Use diagnostic tools, meters, and test equipment to identify and resolve issues
- Document service activities, findings, parts usage, and recommendations accurately
- Communicate technical information clearly to customers, operations teams, and management
- Work safely and independently at customer facilities
- Provide coaching and technical support to less experienced technicians when needed
- Manage multiple service priorities while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism
- Strong experience in field service, industrial electronics, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, or a related technical field.
- Electrical and electronic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience working with networks, communications, or equipment connectivity.
- Ability to read schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong electro-mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a field-based schedule.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
- Ability to safely lift, move, and work with up to 50-pound test weights and equipment as required.
- High School Diploma / GED, or 5 years of related work experience required.
- Experience with weighing systems or process measurement equipment.
- Experience with PLCs, HMIs, Ethernet-based communications, serial communications, or similar technologies.
- Knowledge of calibration procedures and quality systems.
- Experience supporting equipment connected to customer networks.
- CDL or other applicable commercial driving credentials.
