Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Core responsibilities:

  • Research and Development: 
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for Thornton's product line.
  • Problem-solving: 
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills by identifying critical challenges in product performance or customer experience and applying innovative, science-based approaches to develop effective solutions that enhance product value and customer satisfaction.
  • Project management: 
  • Manage research projects end-to-end with creation of DOE and project charters and manage projects timelines effectively. Build detailed project plans including budget mapping, defining milestonesand coordinating with different teams.
  • Experimentation, Analysis and Reporting: 
  • Plan and execute lab work for all the assigned projects.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, application notes, infoflash articles etc. detailing methods, findings, and results. 
  • Communication and Collaboration: 
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D colleagues in global sites, product management and marketing teams to align on objectives and deliverables. 
  • Ensure regular communication with stakeholders to organize and disseminate scientific information and test results to influence new industrial developments and products.
  •       Continuously update knowledge of market trends and product developments to be able to present most feasible ideas.
What You Need to Succeed

Minimum Qualification / Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry with 1-2 years of post doctoral research or academic experience from a reputed institute; Industrial research experience of 4-5 years in relevant segments (Pharma| Biopharma| Microelectronics| Power).
  • Experience working across multidisciplinary sciences, preferably with core expertise in analytical chemistry and material science.
  • Experience with various types of sensors and analytical instruments in research, development, or quality control environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to Process Analytical Technology (PAT) instruments and/or Water Quality Monitoring Instruments is beneficial.
  • Ability to lead interactions and discussions strategically.
  • Excellent in communications with strong verbal and written skills, coupled with a profound intercultural awareness from collaborating in global, diverse teams remotely.
  • Demonstrate strong technical documentation skills by accurately recording experimental procedures, results, and analyses to ensure clear communication and reproducibility.
  • Able to work independently with strong self-motivation, while also being a collaborative team player who effectively partners with diverse teams across a matrix organization.
  • Staying up to date with the latest scientific advancements and industry trends to drive continuous innovation.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards throughout the research process.
Travel as required(<10%).
