Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The Project Engineer II – Electrical is a skilled professional specializing in industrial vehicle weighing equipment and solutions. They manage and coordinate technical engineering activities for vehicle weighing projects, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets. Key responsibilities include conducting research, engineering projects and orders, developing and testing products, ensuring regulatory compliance, protecting intellectual property, executing projects following METTLER TOLEDO Product Lifecycle Management guidelines, and providing product support. The projects may involve various types of vehicle weighing methods, including full-length, single-axle, multi-axle, weigh-in-motion at different speeds, rail coupled-in-motion, and unattended weighing systems.

  • Contributes to analyzing and solving routine problems
  • Quoting of custom product requests 
  • Provide manufacturing engineering support for the assembly, final product testing and production problem diagnostics as required 
  • Mechanical/Electrical design of standard and custom product solutions 
  • Participate in new product development Align products with global compliance, safety and cybersecurity regulations 
  • Maintain awareness of intellectual property protection for products 
  • Prepare technical documentation, manuals, bulletins, sales tools and training material 
  • Participate in product launches 
  • Participate as a sales/service/customer training instructor and/or in other sales/customer related presentations
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field. 
  • Electrical Engineering required with mechanical and software experience considered a plus. 
  • 3+ years of mechanical/electrical product design or equivalent experience. 
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of AutoCAD 
  • Basic understanding of METTLER TOLEDO’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) polices and able to carry out work in accordance with PLM policies. 
  • Basic understanding of global product laws and regulations in applicable markets, especially W&M and safety. 
  • Basic Intellectual Property (IP) awareness and the ability to make IP protection layout for product lines.
