- Manage the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning, tactical activities to product positioning.
- Keep sensitivity on long-term trends and competitors’ positions and strategies, proactively give proposals within DIV SPG Terminal team and make sure own portfolio provides clear advantages over competition and meets major customer needs at time of launch; anticipate trends and upcoming needs.
- Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by MO's and customer visits.
- Elaborate market requirement specifications and business plans to initiate new product developments.
- Support and implement product launches and cooperate with the marketing department to execute.
- Coordinate with cross SPG/SBU and Service. Make sure that related products, software, accessories, and services fit well and allow for sound solutions with outstanding and superior customer value.
- Support to define R&D and PO responsibilities for individual projects. Make sure best locations are selected from a platform, abilities, resource, and cost point of view.
- Help create and maintain product documentation (PDS, manuals, datasheets, etc.) and promotional materials (brochures, web content, etc.)
- Market Development
- Give input to Team Leader Compact Automation Terminals about the strategy and product pipeline development.
- Systematically monitor market trends and share the information with the marketing department, market management, business development and MOs.
- Support core customer projects and applications.
- Training and Support
- Provide input to support & training teams.
- Create training material to help product lines.
- Execute product introductions including launch trainings.
- Provide 4th level support for products/service during active product life (support level 1…3 is in the responsibility of other teams).
- Quality Assurance
- Coordinate/execute quality assurance tasks such as analysis of data in quality monitoring systems or quality notes.
- Assess impact of ECRs and coordinate with PO.
- Ensure that own products continuously meet internal and external quality standards and compliance requirements.
- Manage and/or provide input to quality improvement tasks or recall and related communication activities.
- Maintenance of Line
- Ensure continuous attractiveness of own products throughout the active product life.
- Monitor/analyze sales figures. Initialize ECRs/projects for product upgrades, line extensions, de-proliferations, or cost reductions.
- Ensure sustainable C1 contributions in VPC analyses.
- Phase-out
- Manage proper and effective phase-out of products when they have reached end of life status.
- Ensure to avoid portfolio gaps. Consider potential regional/local differences (e.g. local approvals) and respond appropriately.
- Generate phase-out guides.
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Computer Science or similar subject.
- Technical experience in the areas of factory automation systems, measurement technology, robotics or machine building.
- Good sense for business opportunities as well as entrepreneurial attitude. Keen to understanding trends, market needs, competitor offerings and to visit customers.
- Successful track record of ownership and were the go-to person for a particular topic, product or area
- Good understanding of marketing, sales, pricing and distribution topics.
- Passionate about promoting your visions, products and technologies through marketing and influencer channels
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English including also writing of requirements and specification documents.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with market organizations and customers.
- Open and willing to travel 20%-30% regional and/or international to run co-creation projects with key customers and support go-to-market activities for your product.
