Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Join us as a Software Engineer at our Centre of Excellence for X-Ray equipment, based in Royston. You'll take the lead in delivering powerful, high-quality software that drives innovation across a dynamic range of products, from engaging customer-facing applications to cutting-edge embedded firmware and essential production and R&D tools.

You'll be at the heart of the entire software development lifecycle, working hand-in-hand with talented global teams to create solutions that not only meet technical excellence but also drive real business impact.

What You'll Do

Lead and support timely delivery of software projects, ensuring high quality and performance
Convert product specs into effective software solutions and verify they meet requirements
Establish and improve coding standards, development methods, and processes
Maintain and support the Safeline X-Ray product line, including application software, diagnostic tools, production data tools, and embedded firmware
Collaborate with remote teams and field staff to create custom software solutions
Mentor development and testing teams to encourage best practices
Communicate with Sales, Service, Quality, and Production teams to gather requirements and share field insights
Identify opportunities for improvement based on field feedback and emerging technologies

What You Need to Succeed

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline
Strong hands-on experience with C++, C#, .NET in a production environment
Experience with Azure DevOps and working in an Agile / Scrum environment
Highly motivated, proactive, and able to work independently
Strong team player and motivator; able to foster a positive and high-performing culture
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to root-cause complex issues
