Role/Purpose:
The Head of Service leads and oversees service operations across the Product Inspection unit within METTLER TOLEDO. This role provides strategic vision and leadership with full financial and regulatory responsibility, driving service process improvements and business growth. The incumbent focuses on growing service revenues and profits, fostering innovation, teamwork, and high ethical standards. They are responsible for executing service strategies through planning and resource management. They development and delivery 'Best in Class' customer Service with the aim of developing the Service performance to 'World Class' level at a speed determine by resource allocation and market developments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate a clear vision for Service success.
- Define and implement the PIU service business/service delivery strategy, addressing areas such as preventative maintenance, field repair, depot repair, calibration, warranty, service pricing, service contracts, regulatory compliance services, remote support services.
- Continuous improvement in Customer Satisfaction level as measured by a number of main KPIs.
- Grow Service Revenue and profitability at 2xProduct sales growth – however depending on market conditions.
- Provide accurate and substantial amounts of feedback from field and office experiences to the POs.
- By preparing and providing significant 'Soft Skills' training to all customer facing personal to make most interactions a positive experience for the customers of Mettler Toledo Safeline.
- Develop concepts for future service offerings and the delivery of service, as customer needs, PIUS products, and technologies change.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Management experience and leadership skills.
- Ability to set stretch goals and provide close follow up.
- Ability to motivate a large and diverse staff – through infrequent meetings.
- Good understanding of Metal Detection and X-Ray Inspection technologies.
- Commercial and financial acumen.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Leading by example when it comes to effort, attention to detail and use of company.
Minimum Education / Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred, ideally in business, operations, or related fields.
- 10-15 years of management experience across diverse functions and organizational sizes, with proven success leading major projects or business units.
- Demonstrated outstanding leadership in line management and operations roles with increasing responsibility.
- Experienced in managing leadership teams and directing large employee groups.
- Proficient in SAP, SLX, and Windows Office package
