Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The Heavy Capacity Weld Trainer is tasked with developing and delivering comprehensive training programs for welders at different skill levels. Key responsibilities include creating instructional materials, conducting hands-on training in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, flux core, submerged arc welding), and assessing trainee performance. The trainer maintains current knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations, collaborates with management to identify training needs, ensures a safe training environment, and documents training activities. Additionally, the role includes supporting the recruitment process and contributing to production tasks when not involved in training activities.

  • Develop and implement welding training programs tailored to different skill levels, including beginners and advanced welders. 
  • Contribute to the creation of instructional materials, such as manuals, presentations, and practical exercises. 
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions in various welding techniques, including MIG, flux core, and submerged arc welding. 
  • Evaluate trainees' performance through assessments and practical demonstrations, providing constructive feedback. 
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and advancements in welding technology. 
  • Collaborate with management to identify training needs and make recommendations for continuous improvement. 
  • Ensure a safe and compliant training environment by adhering to all health and safety protocols. 
  • Provide ongoing support and mentorship to trainees, fostering a culture of learning and professional development. 
  • Document training activities and maintain accurate records of trainee progress and certification status. 
  • Assist management with the interview process and perform weld tests for potential new hires. 
  • Layout, fit, and weld materials using support tools such as production orders, standard work, blueprints, and other engineering/customer specifications, based on training and production needs. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
  • High School diploma or equivalent; further education in welding or related field a plus.
  • Proven experience as a welder, with relevant certifications, preferably 5+ years of welding experience.
  • Experience with welding inspection and quality assurance processes.
  • Previous experience in training employees, preferable in a technical field.
  • Ability to contribute to the creation of engaging training materials and presentations.
  • Strong communication skills
