Machine Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
Mettler Toledo's Masstron production facility in Columbus, Ohio is currently hiring a 2nd shift Machine Maintenance Technician to take responsibility for the maintenance of all equipment as well as the facility and grounds. The role requires active participation and continuity in our team environment to identify opportunities for improvement, utilizing critical thinking, problem solving and Lean Manufacturing fundamentals.
Your responsibilities would include:
  • Reading and using technical manuals to understand equipment and controls
  • Disassembling machinery, troubleshooting, repairing or replacing broken or malfunctioning components
  • Performing tests and running batches to verify the machine is operating properly
  • Perform regular preventive maintenance tasks for manufacturing and facility equipment
  • Adjusting and calibrating, cleaning and lubricating equipment to its specifications
  • Performing the job with a sense of urgency being both adaptable and resourceful 
  • Working on the computer using MS Office
  • Lifting and moving 75+ pounds; standing, squatting, climbing ladders, twisting, bending, crawling and reaching
  • Second Shift Hours: 3pm -11:30pm, Monday - Friday. Working overtime as needed which may include evenings and weekends

What You Need to Succeed
  • Expertise in diverse duties related to installation of equipment and preventative maintenance 
  • An associate's degree from an accredited institution or equivalent documented training with a focus on industrial maintenance, electro-mechanical engineering technology, industrial automation technology, or an electronics engineering technician degree 
  • At least 3-5 years of industrial manufacturing or equivalent experience 
  • Familiarity with basic functions of heavy industrial equipment and material handling devices that involve electrical systems, plumbing, hydraulics and compressed air such as cranes, CNC machines, robotics, welding and cutting equipment, and saws 
  • PLC programming, troubleshooting and diagnostics experience would be preferred
  • A strong understanding of environmental health and safety requirements and a history of following them 
  • An understanding of schematics and electrical wiring diagrams preferred
  • This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
