Field Service Technician - Laboratory Products

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing, installations, calibration and preventative maintenance (PM) on laboratory weighing equipment across the GTA region. Equipment may also include pH, conductivity and pipettes as per business needs. You will also resolve first-line customer service issues, complete service documentation accurately, and lead equipment modernization and upgrade efforts. 
What You'll Do:
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and calibration on lab weighing equipment at customer sites, following established procedures and safety standards. 
  • Troubleshoot basic issues and support installations, projects, and repairs as needed.
  • Ensure customer uptime requirements are met and that PM work at assigned accounts are completed on time.
  • Proactive in promoting and selling service and products. Submitting sales leads at a level commensurate with experience is required. 
  • Provide technical solutions consultant and application support to the customer and the sales force
  • Responsible for resolving first line customer complaints and invoicing problems
  • Maintain your company vehicle and assigned parts inventory in a clean, organized, and compliant manner.

What You Need to Succeed
  • A two-year college diploma in Engineering/Electronics/Instrumentation Technology or equivalent education and experience is required in a technical support role, technical troubleshooting or technical installation within the Laboratory division of industrial electronics technology is required.
  • Competent in using PCs, smartphones, and mobile applications, skilled in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Able to learn proprietary METTLER TOLEDO software to review and update information.
  • The ability to lift, transport and place test weights and equipment up to 20 Kg (testing of equipment may require movement of up to 300Kg in 20 Kg increments)
  • Must be willing to work overtime 
  • Must be available to work flexible hours and provide on-call standby on a rotational basis
  • A clear record on the Driver's Abstract  
  • Must be able to travel to the USA for training bi-annually
