Facilities Maintenance Technician (Senior)

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Summary 

Responsible for the maintenance and repair of the facility’s interior, exterior and systems, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. Receives, coordinates, and processes work order requests, ensures problems are resolved quickly. Acts as liaison between Rainin and any external contractors needed to resolve specialized problems. Oversees all department related maintenance repairs, janitorial staff and directs staff as necessary. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinates all facilities maintenance repairs and installations under direction from Manager.
  • Coordinates contractor support and works with various departments to ensure all contractor requirements are met. 
  • Monitors and/or improve equipment performances as needed, document, and report.
  • Executes preventative maintenance on all facilities equipment, and ensures all repairs are completed as expected and on time. 
  • Performs required tasks through snow ticket system and assigns tasks for completion.
  • Keeps records of completed facilities requests and other maintenance activities and ensures timely execution.
  • Provides support to all facilities support teams including, janitorial, maintenance, and security personnel. 
  • Ensures all safety requirements are met daily and that employees are following safety protocol including the use of PPE, lock out tag out and that daily safety checks are made as required.
  • Responsible for ensuring all internal areas of the building are maintained for cleanliness and safety.
  • Coordinates the issuing and returning of facilities department tools and fixtures. 
  • Oversees office relocations and office furniture system reconfigurations. 
  • Performs electrical installations as needed for new equipment or modifications under direction of manager.
  • Performs plumbing installations including, copper pipe, pvc, abs, and galvanized piping installations. 
  • Oversees all welding functions including the use of hot work permits and fire watch, documents according to requirements. 

Job Description
  • Uses power tools and hand tools, electrical meters, and other measuring devices.
  • Trouble shoots equipment issues and follows through with repairs.
  • Reports to Manager and files necessary documentation with facilities Coordinator.
  • Assist Molding Maintenance as necessary with repairs and installations, demolition, and overhauls. 
  • Provides direct supervision of all internal repairs with vendors.
  • Supports all other departments and functions as necessary to maintain a safe, efficient workplace. 

What You Need to Succeed

Education, Experience & Skills
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc. 
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems and molding data monitoring systems is a plus. 
  • A completed course in facilities management will be advantageous.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing methodologies is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in facility maintenance or related experience required.
  • Prior forklift certification preferred. Ability to be certified required.
  • Lock out tag out procedures per OSHA.

Qualifications
  • Ability to use email to communicate with team members is required.
  • Extensive experience in building and equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient in electrical troubleshooting and installations, plumbing installations and troubleshooting, facilities lighting system, air conditioning controls and troubleshooting, support equipment operations and repairs including, water system chillers and pumps, air compressors and dryers, scales, stretch wrappers, forklifts and chargers, fire pump and systems, walk in, slider and roll up doors. 
  • Proficient in the use of electrical meters, amp probes and voltage testers.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with a “can do” attitude.
  • Utilize proper PPE and work with the upmost Safety awareness at all times.
  • In-depth knowledge of building safety regulations and security protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
