- Manage and empower Team Leaders, Architects, and Software Engineers.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, growth, and engineering excellence.
- Guide critical software projects and organizational transformations.
- Define and execute the software strategy across embedded, Linux, PC, and service software.
- Drive scalable architectures, platforms, and development processes.
- Increase software reuse, accelerate innovation, and reduce complexity.
- Support compliance and certification through smart software design.
- Own and evolve the Linux/Debian platform for future products.
- Advance development environments, CI/CD, test automation, and release processes.
- Strengthen engineering excellence through modern tools and practices.
- Define and implement the AI strategy for software development.
- Establish best practices for AI-enabled engineering tools.
- Drive cybersecurity initiatives and CRA compliance.
- Build capabilities for next-generation software technologies.
- Influence product roadmaps and strategic R&D decisions.
- Partner with Product Management, Hardware Engineering, Service, and Quality.
- Manage external development partners and suppliers.
- Represent software topics at leadership level.
- Education: University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or comparable discipline. Solid technical foundation in software engineering and complex product development environments.
- Software Development: Extensive experience in software development for complex, hardware-integrated products. Strong expertise in defining software architecture and platform strategies across multiple product lines. Proven experience developing software for proprietary hardware platforms and Linux-based embedded systems.
- Leadership: Several years of leadership experience in software development, ideally leading leaders and cross-functional teams. Collaborative leadership style with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing talent. Business-oriented mindset with experience managing budgets, making data-driven decisions, and driving organizational success.
- Technology & Programming: Strong hands-on background in C/C++, C#, and Linux-based embedded systems, preferably Debian. Deep understanding of modern software architectures, development processes, and platform-based engineering approaches.
- Language skills: Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
- Flexible working hours (depending on the role), a hybrid work model, and a wide portfolio of training opportunities
- A 40-hour work week with at least 25 vacation days per year, plus 4 to 7 additional days off between bank holidays
