Facilities Maintenance Technician

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

Summary   

Maintains physical space, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment. Receives, coordinates, and processes work order requests, ensures problems are resolved quickly.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 
  • Completes facilities maintenance repairs and installations under direction from Manager.
  • Executes preventative maintenance on all facilities equipment, and ensures all repairs are completed as expected and on time. 
  • Performs required tasks through snow ticket system as directed
  • Responsible for following procedures outlined in the Safety Plan and the quality manual.
  • Communicates completed facilities requests and other maintenance activities and ensures timely execution.
  • Ensures all safety requirements are met daily and follows safety protocol including the use of PPE, lock out tag out and that daily safety checks are made as required
  • Installs electrical conduits, boxes, and wiring as per instructions
  • Performs plumbing installations including, copper pipe, pvc, abs, and galvanized piping installations 
  • Oversees all welding functions including the use of hot work permits and fire watch. Documents according to requirements 
  • Uses power tools and hand tools, electrical meters, and other measuring devices
  • Trouble shoots equipment issues and follows through with repairs. Reports to Manager and files necessary documentation with facilities Coordinator
  • Assist Molding Maintenance as necessary with repairs and installations, demolition, and overhauls. 
  • Supports all other departments and functions as necessary to maintain a safe, efficient workplace. 
  • Fabricates crates, pallets and performs construction tasks as directed
  • Troubleshoot and replace as needed, lighting, controls.
What You Need to Succeed

Education, Experience & Skills 

  • Certified in operation of all forklift and man lift vehicles, safety harness.
  • Lock out tag out certified.

  • Extensive experience in building and equipment maintenance.
  • Proficient in equipment troubleshooting and installations, plumbing installations and troubleshooting, facilities lighting system, and troubleshooting, support equipment operations and repairs including, pumps, air compressors and dryers, scales, stretch wrappers, forklifts and chargers, walk in, slider and roll up doors. 
  • Demolition and removal of machinery, flooring and structures.
  • Installation and maintenance of vinyl flooring.
  • Ability to respond to building and equipment emergencies.
