Mechanical Engineer
Location Lutz, Florida Date posted April 19, 2024 Job ID 16134- Develop manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling and installing components;
- Create 3D parts, assemblies, drawings and bill of materials;
- Maintain document database;
- Review and approve vendor drawings;
- Design and implement cost-effective designs to help improve safety, reliability and throughput
- Assist production & field engineering personnel to interpret designs;
- Work with other engineers and production personnel not to only develop but also to maintain the manufacturing process;
- Provide sustaining engineering support for on-going Root Cause Analyses;
- Solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, suppliers, and customers;
- Ensure that the system is reliable and will perform consistently in specified operating environments;
- Ensure coordination with Sales, R&D, Software, Product Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Production and Service to satisfy customer requirements;
- Work with production to understand our process capabilities and develop ideas that reduce costs and improve quality;
- Ensure system and products design are in line with Risk Assessment and Safe Mechanical Design guidelines;
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations; and
- Accurately track and record time spent on projects.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline and at least three years of mechanical design experience. Required experience must include 3 years in the following specific skill:
- Design of automated industrial equipment; and
Required experience must also include at least one year of experience in the following specific skills:
- Design of 3D models, detail drawings and assembly drawings using 3D modeling software, such as AutoDesk Inventor or similar; and
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
Up to 5%, Domestic and International travel required.
