FAT Test Technician

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The (FAT) Test Technician plays a crucial role in maintaining quality standards by assisting in the Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of Checkweighers, Metal Detectors, and X-Ray systems. This position is vital in ensuring system integrity prior to shipment, contributing to the overall quality assurance process. What you will do:
  • Interpret and follow detailed mechanical prints, electrical schematics, parts lists, assembly instructions, and established processes and procedures.  
  • Report quality issues, process inconsistencies, and equipment/material concerns to the Quality Management team.  
  • Assist in conducting customer-driven and internal FAT protocols for Checkweighers, Metal Detectors, and X-Ray systems.  
  • Support post-FAT hand-offs to Production, Engineering, and Service departments.  
  • Monitor and assist in managing the FAT calendar and workload scheduling.  
  • Learn and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the FAT Workspace.  
  • Develop operational competency in handling Quality transactions using the SAP business system.  
  • Collaborate with Value Stream Quality Engineers as needed.  
  • Ensure FAT areas comply with 5S and safety standards.  
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, reflecting positively on our customers.  
  • Enhance professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops and training.  
  • Maintain various quality reports as necessary.  
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.  
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
  • High school diploma or equivalent.  
  • 1-3 years of experience in an assembly role.
  • Highly organized, efficient, and detail oriented.  
  • Basic electro-mechanical skills.  
  • Ability to work effectively in an assembly environment.  
  • Willingness to work overtime as required to meet customer demands.  
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop good working relationships across departments.  
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.  
  • Proficient note-taking skills.  
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and perform the physical demands of a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
This position is considered safety sensitive and is subject to drug testing as permitted by law.
