Weld Trainer
Location Columbus, Ohio Date posted November 05, 2024 Job ID 17919- Develop and implement welding training programs tailored to different skill levels, including beginners and advanced welders.
- Contribute to the creation of instructional materials, such as manuals, presentations, and practical exercises.
- Conduct hands-on training sessions in various welding techniques, including MIG, flux core, and submerged arc welding.
- Evaluate trainees' performance through assessments and practical demonstrations, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and advancements in welding technology.
- Collaborate with management to identify training needs and make recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Ensure a safe and compliant training environment by adhering to all health and safety protocols.
- Provide ongoing support and mentorship to trainees, fostering a culture of learning and professional development.
- Document training activities and maintain accurate records of trainee progress and certification status.
- Assist management with the interview process and perform weld tests for potential new hires.
- Layout, fit, and weld materials using support tools such as production orders, standard work, blueprints, and other engineering/customer specifications, based on training and production needs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent; further education in welding or related field a plus.
- Proven experience as a welder, with relevant certifications, preferably 5+ years of welding experience.
- Experience with welding inspection and quality assurance processes.
- Previous experience in training employees, preferable in a technical field.
- Ability to contribute to the creation of engaging training materials and presentations.
- Strong communication skills
