• Using
the principles of adult learning, perform at least 28 - 32 weeks of blended
training assessment, development and implementation, based on current
requirements, during each calendar year.
• Design and conduct needs analysis studies through a variety of methods
including both formal and informal assessments, discussions with learners,
formal and informal interaction with leaders, and other communication as
appropriate.
• Travel up to 35% is required for this position.
• Confer with leaders to determine development and training needs and to better
understand product, technological and strategic requirements and changes.
Determine curricula and training criteria. Prepare recommendations on instructional
materials, training aids, and related equipment.
• Assess the options for training delivery and implement based on findings.
Training solutions should include, but not be limited to, in-house classroom
training, regional training, elearning, Webex learning, recorded sessions,
self-paced kits, and other blended training solutions. Offer guidance, based on
assessment findings, to the other Technical Instructors. Ensure consistency and
professionalism in all delivered materials and presentations.
• Maintain and enhance existing classroom materials to reflect most current
product hardware, software, functionality, accessories, tools and facilitation
equipment.
• Formulate teaching outlines, objectives and schedules based on identified
training needs. Select most appropriate instructional procedures or methods
including individual training, group instruction, self-study, lectures,
demonstrations, simulation exercises, computer-based training,
distance-learning and others, as appropriate.
• Organize and develop training manuals, labs, exercises, reference library,
testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other
educational materials as related to the specific courses for technical training
and other general training.
• Develop testing or evaluation procedures to measure effectiveness of training
and progress of trainees.
• Revise design of training curricula and methods to improve effectiveness.
• Develop e-learning modules and other blended solutions as appropriate. Ensure
professionalism of all materials and delivery. Collaborate with other Subject
Matter Experts to collect content.
• Provide feedback to the students’ respective Leaders, when necessary,
regarding performance in the classroom.
• Conduct periodic regional training activities to ensure that classroom-based
application knowledge is complemented by field experiences.
• Support internal and external customers with technical and triage support.
• Lead and/or participate with the Operations Leadership team to discuss and
recommend field service training requirements, areas for improvement, and new
ideas for implementation. Support the identification and development of action
plans designed to address task team requirements.
• Understand the functionality and navigation of the Learning Management System
in order to add ILT Courses and Classes, pull training records, enter
registrations and cancellations, create/generate system reports and utilize
other system capabilities as required.
• Collaborate with other members of the Training team to ensure broad-based
knowledge of training development and delivery and to support overall training
requirements.
• Interface with individuals and teams in a professional and cooperative
manner.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Must be highly articulate, fluent, and able to express self orally and in writing.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization; and prepare and make presentations.
