Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
The Mettler Toledo Masstron unit (MTMS) unit aims to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness by minimizing downtime and implementing continuous improvement processes through predictive and preventative maintenance. The MTMS Maintenance Department handles equipment and facility upkeep, including installation, maintenance, improvement initiatives, troubleshooting, vendor coordination, parts specification, and data management. These efforts are geared towards boosting uptime, reducing Cost-of-Poor-Quality ratios, and improving productivity, ultimately maximizing cash flow and profitability to increase shareholder value. 

Responsible for the on-time delivery of quality maintenance activities and facility improvements to internal customers. 
  • Daily maintenance of the data integrity of Maintenance Software. 
  • Analyze and identify weaknesses and risks for the unit and operations as it relates to equipment, processes, procedures, tools used as well as identify inconsistencies between the departments & shifts in how processes and procedures are defined and executed. 
  • Develop new and enhance existing standard processes and procedures for a more effective, streamlined and efficient Maintenance Management system in the unit to ensure a continuous improvement of Maintenance KPIs and a positive impact on OP overall – with the necessary consensus of stakeholders, but also with the fortitude and facts to decide what is right. 
  • Effective utilization of resources to meet production/facility demands (planning). 
  • Ongoing problem identification and resolution through the help of CI teams. Champion of Lean initiatives through use of the Lean tool set to support business decisions. 
  • Maintain healthy communication with the support functions to ensure goals are met. 
  • Create an environment conducive to continued team success. 
  • Ensure the production environment remains safe. 
  • Manage and develop maintenance personnel (2 shifts). 
  • Other duties may be assigned.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's Degree/Associates Degree in a related field or Trade School diploma is preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance technician or related experience is required. 
  • Practical experience in heavy manufacturing is strongly preferred.
  • Great understanding of Lean concepts.
  • Ability to troubleshoot robotic and automation equipment using PLC ladder logic and experience with PLC is a plus. 
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems including the ability to read blueprints/schematics and diagrams.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Previous experience with 3-phase, 480v, 277v, 240v, 208v and120v electricity, welding/cutting, machining, plumbing, refrigeration, hydraulics, compressed air
  • Basic computer skills and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Responsibilities in directing maintenance Employees in maintaining high efficiency and maintenance on our equipment, such as electrical CNC Saws, CNC machining Centers utilizing Fanuc Controls, hydraulic plate shearing, hydraulic press Brake equipment with HMI interfaces, high efficiency screw type Air compressing equipment.
  • Strong experience with overhead bridge Cranes utilizing AC drives and working with outside Crane Companies in maintaining and scheduling maintenance in a manner that that has minimal disruption to production schedules.
  • Experience trouble shooting DC Transformer/Rectifier and Inverter type welding power sources, this would include working with manufactures to quick solutions in down time.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting HVLP and airless paint systems, utilizing a two-part epoxy paint. This would include working with system Manufactures on upgrades and solutions to system issues.
  • Experience with various types of abrasive shot blasting equipment a plus.
