Global Product Manager

Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
As our Global Product Manager, you will be a hands-on champion for the assigned Thornton brand liquid chemical analyzers and related products to expand company presence and process analytics product growth, especially in the power generation industry, worldwide. You will manage the global analytical product and instrumentation portfolio from "cradle to grave", including product maintenance and obsolescence, creation of support and promotional materials, and new product development. The ideal candidate will be a principal marketing participant with R&D in all phases of new product development, including concurrent engineering of approved projects (preparation of product development specs, project status meetings, scheduling, etc.). The candidate will also develop and implement marketing plans for product introduction, support for existing products, and technical sales training and tradeshow support. Additional responsibilities will include: 
  • Providing full product lifecycle support of the chemical analyzers portfolio, including yearly sales forecasts and pricing updates, quality evaluations, strategic initiatives, and obsolescence updates. 
  • Leading multidisciplinary teams with key stakeholders to support and execute strategy which drives revenue growth. 
  • Developing and maintaining a high knowledge level of the technologies, products, and applications in the company's current and future business areas to better support the existing product line, and to help drive new product introduction. 
  • Collecting, evaluating, and reporting marketing intelligence on customer needs, sales potential, marketing and technology trends, economic and regulatory climate, competitive activities, and other data that may impact our business. 
  • Preparing marketing deliverables to support sales and lead generations activities, including application notes, technical bulletins, competitive analyses, datasheets, whitepapers, training videos, and troubleshooting guides. 
  • Supporting global sales by responding to technical and application inquiries when the Technical Support group requires assistance. 
  • Conducting product and application training for channel partners, sales reps, internal personnel, and customers, as needed.
What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering applied sciences, or related field required. 
  • A minimum of 2-5 years of product management experience. 
  • Experience with liquid analyzers or instrumentation is a plus. 
  • Ability to travel globally up to 30%. 
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with a minimum of 3 days a week at our Billerica, MA location.
