Our Opening and Your Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership and Architecture Governance (30%)
    • Define and drive the overall software architecture for the ProdX platform, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security across cloud, edge, and on-premise components. 
    • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to software developers, fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous learning. 
    • Establish and enforce coding standards, design patterns, and architectural best practices within the POPI R&D software team; lead design reviews and technical decision-making. 
  • ProdX Platform Development and Innovation (30%)
    • Lead the design and evolution of ProdX core modules, including device data acquisition, real-time stream processing, compliance logging, analytics, and reporting. 
    • Drive innovation by evaluating and integrating emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, LLM-based diagnostics, edge computing) into the ProdX product roadmap. 
    • Collaborate with global R&D and product teams to align platform capabilities with market needs, ensuring scalability and adaptability for food, pharmaceutical, and other regulated industries. 
  • Cloud-Edge Architecture and System Integration (20%)
    • Architect seamless integration between the ProdX cloud platform and on-premise inspection devices (X-ray, checkweighers, metal detectors), ensuring efficient and resilient data flow. 
    • Oversee the development of APIs, communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT, Modbus), and interfaces that enable interoperability between software and hardware components. 
    • Ensure robust system performance under varying network conditions, addressing challenges such as offline operation, data loss prevention, and latency optimization. 
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance (10%)
    • Lead the design of compliance architecture to meet global regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11, OIML, ISO), including audit trails, electronic signatures, and data integrity. 
    • Establish quality assurance processes for software deliverables, ensuring robust product performance and reliability throughout the SDLC. 
    • Support certification efforts and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders for regulatory approvals and audits. 
  • Strategic Planning and Technology Roadmap (10%)
    • Define and iterate the technology roadmap for ProdX, aligning software advancements with long-term company objectives and industry trends. 
    • Lead transformative initiatives to enhance R&D efficiency, integrating best practices in DevOps, CI/CD, and automated testing. 
    • Promote a culture of agility, innovation, and accountability within the POPI R&D software team. 
What You Need to Succeed
  • Education:
    • Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. 
    • Candidates with a Bachelor's degree and exceptional relevant experience may be considered. 
  • Professional Skills:
    • Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker, message queues, event streaming). 
    • Proficiency in software development languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python) and frameworks for building enterprise-scale applications. 
    • Experience with Industrial IoT (IIoT) protocols and edge computing; familiarity with hardware interfaces is a plus. 
    • Strong understanding of data management, including relational databases, time-series databases, and data pipeline design. 
    • Knowledge of global regulatory standards for software compliance (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP 5) is highly preferred. 
    • Familiarity with agile frameworks (e.g., Scrum, SAFe) to enhance team productivity. 
  • Competencies:
    • Decision-Making: Ability to make informed technical and strategic decisions, balancing short-term delivery with long-term architectural sustainability. 
    • Team Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to resolve conflicts and foster collaboration across software, hardware, and product disciplines. 
    • Global Communication: Fluent in English, with experience working in multinational environments. 
    • Adaptability: High learning agility to embrace new technologies and methodologies, driving team innovation.
