Service Technician
Location San Diego, California, United States Date posted July 02, 2026 Job ID 22357 Pay Range $18 - $23 (Plus Commission)- Disassembles, cleans, repairs, and reassembles pipettes and equipment.
- Performs inspections on units received for component defects and ensures all repair work meets established quality standards.
- Completes related paperwork such as work sheets, part usage tallies, and repair estimates.
- Expedites priority orders through the database system.
- Contributes in meeting established turn-around-time requirements and standards.
- Reassembles and calibrates pipettes and follows through on customer instructions relating to orders, such as requests for additional parts.
- Follows testing protocol and calibration procedures for pipettes and equipment.
- Test, evaluate, and calibrate pipettes to meet the appropriate standards.
- Performs and conducts quality audits on pipettes during calibration to ensure each unit meets repair quality standards.
- Completes related database entries and associated paperwork
- Accounts for parts used and directs orders to the next stage in process.
- Receives incoming repair orders when needed: open packages to verify contents are accurate, log and record pipette deliveries onto log sheet.
- Ensure pipettes received are not contaminated by use of a radiation safety monitor and places appropriate labels on incoming packages.
- Works Saturdays as needed to support Saturday Service Program and to complete other work as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Minimum of 1 year of related experience in Manufacturing, Instrumentation repair and maintenance, and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and prior work experience.
- Previous knowledge or work experience with pipettes preferred.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present verbal information to customers and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Basic knowledge of computers and a working knowledge of common Microsoft Office programs.
