Procurement Engineer - METTLER TOLEDO Cargoscan

- Source, evaluate, and qualify suppliers capable of delivering high-quality technical components and services aligned with METTLER TOLEDO’s quality and compliance standards.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and purchase agreements to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to ensure purchased materials meet technical and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance metrics, conduct audits when necessary, and implement corrective actions to maintain supplier excellence.
- Manage procurement lifecycle including purchase orders, expediting deliveries, and resolving any supply chain disruptions.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies, regulatory compliance, and sustainability initiatives within the supply chain.
- Effectively utilize ERP systems (SAP) to streamline and manage all procurement activities with accuracy and efficiency.
- Technical Knowledge: Be able to understand technical drawings, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
- Supplier & Procurement Skills: Have experience in sourcing suppliers, negotiating pricing, forecasting, managing safety stock, and purchasing activities while maintaining a high focus on quality
- Experience from evaluating costs, solving supply chain issues, and coordinating with engineering, production planning, logistics, and production processes.
- Proven experience from a production environment
- Solid understanding of purchasing processes, and daily ERP driven maintenance
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools, Experience from SAP (ECC) is an advantage
- Meticulous attention to technical detail, cross-functional communication, an analytical mindset, and firm negotiation skills
- Able to translate engineering requirements into commercial terms for vendors, while also pushing back on internal design teams if certain specifications are cost-prohibitive or complex to manufacture
- Strong organizational skills with the proven ability to effectively manage multiple priorities
- Strong analytical abilities (root cause).
- Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to go extra mile.
- Fluent English written and spoken, Norwegian is an advantage but not required
